OJH Marks Successful Year with Trips
To celebrate the end of the 2024-2025 school year, OJH is allowing the students to attend an end-of-the-year trip with their classmates in May.
“Eighth graders will be attending a Texas Rangers’ baseball game on the evening of May 2nd,” OJH Principal Ed Berngen said to parents in a letter. “Seventh graders will experience Frontier Texas, an interactive museum in Abilene, along with a surprise stop on May 9th. Finally, 6th graders will be going to River Bend Nature Center in Wichita Falls, and they too will have a surprise stop on May 13th.”
However, there are qualifications that students have to meet to attend the trip.
““In order for a student to attend the trips, he/she must meet the following expectations: the student must be passing all his/her classes for the 6th six weeks, the student could not have been placed in DAEP at any point during the school year, the student could not have been placed in ISS or received any corporal punishment from Spring Break to the end of the year, the student cannot have more than one office referral from Spring Break to the end of the year, the student cannot have more than two unexcused absences for second period from Spring Break to the end of the year,” Berngen continues.
To encourage better academic performance as well as good behavior, Berngen is encouraging students to finish out the year as well as have them excited for their trips.
“As we go into the fourth quarter of the school year, let’s finish strong,” Berngen said. “In order to do this, we must take care of business in and out of the classroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 940564-3517.”
