OISD School Board Candidates

Trustee Place 1 Landon Rowe

I am excited to share with you that I am officially running for a position on the Olney ISD school board. I am deeply invested in the success and well-being of our schools and more importantly our students.

I am Landon Rowe, a proud resident of Olney deeply rooted in its community.

My journey in business began in 2010 when Zach and I were given the opportunity to build on the foundation laid by my family’s business established in 1974. I was raised in Archer City and a graduate of 2005 continuing my education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I partnered with my brother Zach to contribute to the family legacy through our joint venture, Dickey, McGann & Rowe Insurance. Beyond professional commitments, I found love and companionship in Katie McElroy, an Olney graduate and a devoted first grade teacher at Olney ISD. Together, Katie and I find joy in supporting our niece and nephews, teeing off on the golf course, and sharing our home with our cherished dogs, Luka & Clancy.

I have witnessed the positive impact a strong and dedicated school board can have on shaping the future of education and athletics. I am committed to bringing fresh perspectives, effective communication, no hidden agendas and a collaborative approach to ensure our school can thrive academically and compete athletically. When I look at surrounding towns competing consistently in athletics; I catch myself wondering “Why not Olney?” I promise to do everything I can to make sure your kids have the best opportunity to be competitive in athletics at Olney ISD.

My experience in being a local business owner and current President of the Olney Country Club has equipped me with the skills needed to address the challenges and opportunities facing our school district. I believe in fostering an environment that encourages academic and athletic excellence and prepares students for success beyond the classroom. I am eager to engage with you, the community, to better understand your priorities and concerns. Together, we can work towards a shared vision of educational and athletic excellence.

I look forward to the journey ahead and will be grateful for your support on the ballot in May. Let’s build a brighter future for the kids, school, and community.
