OHS Valedictorian, Salutatorian Reflect on Hard Work, Future
With the 2024-2025 school year coming to an end, Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the competitive class of 2025 are Aidyn Bitner and Caleb Johnson. Both students will give commencement speeches on May 16 in the auditorium.
Bitner, valedictorian, plans to attend Texas A&M University for Engineering. He hopes to one day become a software engineer.
“Valedictorian feels like everything I’ve tried to live up to,” Bitner said. “My friends and family would always say that they expected me to become the Valedictorian, so that’s what I’ve been working on all my high school career to become, and I’ve pushed myself harder while learning a lot along the way.”
Johnson plans to attend Texas A&M University and study computer engineering.
“Being the Salutatorian means a lot to me,” Johnson said. “It shows all of the hard work I have put in while I have been in high school. It shows that through some of my adversities, I still have been able to complete my work with a certain level of excellence.”
Olney ISD staff are very proud of these students for their hard work to achieve such an honor.
“I would challenge any Valedictorian or Salutatorian to not let this honor be their peak achievement in life,” Principal Matt Caffey said. “They should use this as a launch point to a successful life.”
