Newcastle unveils $23,000 football bleacher addition aided by an anonymous citizen

Games under the Friday night lights may be a little easier to attend thanks to a recently completed addition to the Newcastle High School football bleachers.

Newcastle Independent School Board Superintendent Ty Spitzer announced construction of a $25,000 ramp to the stands recently wrapped, which brings the facility within Americans with Disability Act Standards.

“We had a donation of $9,000. It was a $23,000 expense so we covered the rest,” Spitzer said.

Spitzer added the donation was made by an anonymous citizen, who Spitzer said he knew but the citizen requested the school board not publicize his name.
