May 4 Election Results: Johnson Elected to Hospital Board, Lovett and Rue Re-elected and Prop A Fails

Young County Elections Administrator reported the unofficial results for the May 4 election at the close of the polls. Results will be made official at an upcoming board meeting.

The majority of voters voted against Proposition A, “The increase by the Olney Hamilton Hospital District of the maximum rate of annual taxes.” Fifty-nine percent of voters voted against Proposition A, and 41 percent of voters voted for Proposition A.

The hospital board candidates who were up for election or re-election included Katherine Atchley (10 years), Dale Lovett (14 years), Dr. Jeremy Johnson and Lonnie Rue (14 years). Voters re-elected Lovett and Rue. Dr. Jeremy Johnson was newly elected. A total of 1225 votes were cast with Rue receiving 362, Lovett receiving 346, Johnson receiving 326 and Atchley receiving 191.
