The Max Greiner Art Show was held April 22 at The Hope Center in Plano. The event was hosted by Col. Allen West—President and CEO of The Hope Center. Greiner’s works of art on display consisted of pieces from the beginning of his career to his current work, including miniature sculptures of the works on display at the prayer garden in Kerrville.

Greiner always emphasizes that his art is his ministry, and this is evident in the way he puts ministry first in all circumstances. He was not in the room to sell art; he was in the room praying for others’ well-being and peace. It was easy to see how his art is the catalyst for promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Although Greiner was busy ministering to various people who came to view his exhibits, he set aside time to talk to Olney Enterprise about future endeavors.

In response to the question, “Does your journey end here?” Greiner responded, “I wait on God. I ask Him to tell me what he wants me to do, and I do it. If you remember my story earlier in my career, God told me to sculpt the “Divine Servant” piece, but I didn’t obey initially because I didn’t see how that would help me feed my family. When I finally obeyed, it all came together; since then, I’ve just waited on God to tell me what’s next.”

While sitting among Greiner’s life’s work, one can see the progression of his work and his relationship with God through the chronological display of his compositions. “The interesting thing is what God has called me to do, and nobody else has ever done this before; it is a new way of reflecting God’s presence. I don’t know what’s next. I will keep doing what he puts it from of me. Now, I just obey a little quicker,” Greiner said.

Greiner offered advice to others who may be struggling with doing God’s will. “I had to learn the hard way that God’s got this figured out for each of us as stated in Jerimiah 29:11. So, I would encourage others to really seek God through prayer on what he would have you do with your life. God’s path is unique to us and nobody else. So, if you’re walking your path, you get to have all these great experiences with God. But, when you start trying to do what He has called someone else to do, and that doesn’t work so well, you start to wonder why.” Greiner said. “My advice is to be what God has called you to be. Pray and ask Him to show you what he wants and look at what He’s gifted you to do naturally. Look at the things you like to do, get educated in those areas, and learn from the people God sends to speak into your life.”

For the past few months, Greiner has been battling cancer. He described it as the worst kind of prostate cancer, ranked as a 10 on the Gleason grading system. “The news rocked our world. I asked God what He was doing. It was all scary at first, and I did not understand why I had to deal with cancer. So I asked people to pray to our faith into practice. I am thankful to everyone who offered prayers for my healing. When the doctor received the results from MRI, the CT Scan, the bone scan, and almost every other test you can do, the cancer disappeared. The doctors were all amazed, and his doctor admitted that he had never seen the worst kind of cancer disappear. After giving all the tests, the doctor performed another biopsy that came back positive for a lesser grade of cancer in different places, so we will move forward with surgery May 24 unless God does something else to prove it is not there!” Greiner exclaimed while asking for continued prayers.
