Loaves and Dishes Restaurant Opens

Loaves and Dishes is Olney’s newest option for breakfast and lunch, offering fresh-baked good and sweets and southern comfort good. The mother-daughter team of Reshell Garcia and Cyuss Garcia recently opened Loaves and Dishes at 1012 W. Main St. in the yellow trailer previously occupied by Catfish Po’ Boys and More, and business has been good.

On a recent Friday, the duo had to turn away patrons who had not called in their lunch orders because they were sold out. The restaurant is open for breakfast, and lunch, and when a hankering for something sweet is too hard to resist. Its hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Place call-in orders at 940564-4440.

The Garcias bring years of experience to their new enterprise. Reshell (Mom) brings restaurant management and cooking experience and Cyuss (daughter) brings baking, sweets, and cooking experience to the team. Both are born and raised in Olney and say they wanted to bring something great to their hometown. The restaurant will have a different special dish and sweet of the day to go along with their regular menu items. Items included on the regular menu are meatloaf, chicken fried chicken, apricot pork chops, chicken salad, and much more.

“Some of the recipes came from my grandmother,” Reshell Garcia said. “They were the things growing up I loved to eat.” Daughter Cyuss said she ran her own business, Cyuss Confections, out of her house and wanted to continue to offer fresh baked goods and sweets. The team said they appreciate all the support from the community since opening and invited everyone down for some southern comfort food, sweet treats, and warm smiles.
