Lighthouse Therapy Marks Milestone in Foster Care Svcs

The largest pediatric outpatient clinic in the area, Lighthouse Therapy in Graham, is celebrating a major milestone. This year marks a decade in network with Superior Medicaid, the only managed care organization (MCO) that insures foster children in the region.

For 10 years, Lighthouse Therapy has stood in the gap for foster children in rural communities — children who too often went unseen, underserved, and without access to the therapy services they desperately needed.

Before Lighthouse Therapy became in-network with Superior Medicaid, many foster children had no local options for therapy care. Families were forced to drive more than an hour each way for services, while some children simply went without help altogether. Lighthouse Therapy refused to accept that reality.

Lighthouse Therapy spent three years advocating and working to become an in-network provider with Superior Medicaid. Despite the lengthy process, they remained committed to the mission because they believed foster children and their families deserved accessible, quality therapy services within their own communities.

Lighthouse Therapy will host a special “Superhero” themed event on June 3rd and 4th, marking 10 years of dedicated service to children in the area. The event is designed to recognize the powerful, supportive relationships between foster parents and the children in their care, while also highlighting the vital therapy services available within the community.

The celebration will feature superhero- themed décor, photo opportunities, cookies, and hands-on crafts for children. Organizers hope the event not only honors those already involved in foster care but also raises awareness among local families who may not yet be familiar with Lighthouse Therapy’s services.

“For years, foster parents have shown incredible strength, patience, and compassion—true superhero qualities,” said one of the owners of Lighthouse Therapy. “We also want to recognize our therapists and staff, who work tirelessly to provide high-quality care and support to every child who walks through our doors.”
