Lift Up Leighton Fundraiser Set for Sunday

Lift Up Leighton Fundraiser Today Olney is coming together to support a young boy facing the biggest challenge of his life.

Leighton Carlile, a quiet and kind-hearted rising fifth grader, underwent surgery this Wednesday to remove a brain tumor.

In the meantime, the family is asking for prayers and organizing a series of fundraisers to help cover Leighton’s medical costs.

Despite the uncertainty ahead, Leighton remains a devoted big brother to his younger siblings, Jacob and Nellie. “He is a quiet child but absolutely loves his family,” Emily said. “He loves Pokémon, playing video games, and is the sweetest big brother.”

To help his parents, Jesse and Brittany Carlile, friends and neighbors are hosting a fundraiser called “Lift Up Leighton” on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 10 a.m. at Stewart’s Food Store in Olney. The event will feature a bake sale, handmade crafts, and $10 taco plates that include three soft beef tacos, rice, and beans. To preorder plates, text 940-2120407.

A silent auction and raf- fle are also underway on Facebook at the page “Lift Up Leighton Benefit.” Those who wish to donate auction or raffle items can call Emily at 940-257-7703, family friend Makayla D’Nell at 254-436-8011, or Brittany Carlile at 940-212-0407.

Direct donations can be made to Leighton’s Benefit Account at Olney

Interbank, or through Venmo at @Jesse-Carlile. All proceeds will go directly to the Carlile family to assist with travel, medical, and recovery expenses.

The family expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they’ve received.
