Letters to Santa

Lori Cox, the director of Olney Community Library and Arts Center, confirmed that Santa Claus had approved the library as the drop-off spot for Olney Elementary students’ letters to Santa. Santa’s helper will set up Santa’s mailbox after Thanksgiving, and it will be open to receive letters Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Students in grades pre-K – 5 will drop off their letters at the assigned time, which has been coordinated with the teachers. Students who are not attending school may drop off their letters, too. Students may choose to write a letter to Santa, write a poem or story. There will be candy canes and photo opportunities.

Santa’s helper will share the letters with Olney Enterprise newspaper before he or she delivers the letters to Santa at the North Pole. Olney Enterprise will publish the letters in the Dec. 17 issue. Merry Christmas!
