Legion to mark Veteran graves for Memorial Day

American Legion Post 414 and the Olney Sons of the American Legion are gathering the names of deceased veterans and raising a team of volunteers to mount a special celebration of vets on Memorial Day, May 27, Post Commander Chris Garcia said.

He asked for information about veterans who are buried in Olney’s cemeteries, including name, branch of service, and gravesite location.

The Legion and volunteers will place flags beside the veterans’ headstones, he said.

If you would like to volunteer to place flags or have information about an Olney veteran, contact the Legion at 940-5649383 or visit their Facebook page.
