Judge Bullock and Judge Mahler Are Not Seeking Re-election

Judge Stan Mahler said that he is not seeking re-election for Justice of the Peace.

After much prayer and talking with my family, I have decided not to run for re-election for an 8th term of Justice of the Peace to have more time to spend with my family. It has been an honor to serve the people of Young County. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me the past 27 plus years,” Mahler said in a released statement.

Also, Young County Judge Bullock said that he will not seek re-election to a fourth consecutive term as Young County Judge.

“In much consultation with my family and others over the past twelve months and more intently for the past six, considering family needs, many issues past, present and surely to come, and reflecting on the past thirty + years and more particularly the past twelve, I have come to the decision that I will not seek re-election to a fourth consecutive term as Young County Judge. First and foremost, I believe it to be in the best interest of my family; second, there are many things in my personal business that have been postponed, put off and neglected due to the time demands and duties of this office that I have been dedicated to uphold; and third to be able to receive the benefits of the retirement system which

I as employee and you as employer on my behalf have been contributing to for the past thirty one and Lord willing, thirty two years at the end of this third term on December 31, 2022. Thank you all for the honor and privilege to serve you,” Bullock said via email.
