High school construction update

Construction is in progress for Olney High School. February 2019 is the anticipated date of completion for the $4.5 million renovation project.

Tax-payers are not paying for the school renovation because of a bond election coupled with the district’s ability to pay off existing bonds, Dr. Greg Roach explained earlier this year.

Roach and members of the Olney School Board toured the high school before the meeting. Contractors are remodeling classrooms with new interactive boards, reconfiguring science labs and installing new plumbing and electrical wiring throughout the main building, which improves school safety and security. In addition to the renovation of the main campus, the construction plan includes the expansion and reconfiguration of the band hall to accommodate the storage of equipment.
