Haven River Inn Chapel project near completion

Under the guidance of Lamb’s Tale Ministries, the Haven River Inn, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, provides respite care for those in full-time ministry. Lamb’s Tale Ministries’ mission is to allow those serving in ministry a time to reflect on their calling and have an opportunity to refresh their minds and souls. Lamb’s Tale Ministries relies solely on donors to provide the funds necessary for their stay. The Haven River Inn is compensated at a reduced rate for this service to help serve God’s purpose.

In 2019, many of you donated matching funds to the initial seed money that the Perry Foundation donated to launch the chapel project—constructing a 1200 sq. ft. chapel and a 250 sq. ft. cabana. The chapel will serve the organization’s mission by fostering stillness with God and providing a place for retreats, workshops, reunions, weddings and memorable worship experiences.

Dr. Suzie Ramsay said despite the negative impact of the pandemic, “Still, we face ongoing cancellations; we are so grateful that people are calling to host small weddings in the not too distant future due to COVID, and we believe the market is there for our chapel and facilities.”

The construction has been delayed and is expected to start again soon. Meanwhile, you can make donations that are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

“Donations will help cover operating costs and also serve as a cushion to ensure the funding for the chapel and bathroom cabana by the pool are completed,” Dr. Ramsay said. “Lamb’s Tale has been blessed with grant funding to do the program of leadership care from both the Hamill Foundation and Baptist Health Foundation in San Antonio. We are reaching out to more and more churches and leaders to let them know there is room at the inn, which will help with the costs at the Haven.”
