Groundbreaking celebration for the new Hospice of Wichita Falls care center

Hospice of Wichita Falls began the groundbreaking to its brand-new facility this past Tuesday, June 11. The event symbolized the beginning of a new building for an organization that makes such an enormous impact yearly.

The groundbreaking ceremony amounted to hundreds of people attending the event, with everyone standing on the 3.5-acre land located on Cypress Avenue where the new site is located. This groundbreaking represents hospice continuing to build a legacy of care, while at the same time improving its main campus facilities as well. According to Hospice of Wichita Falls Inpatient care information the new facility will include “a large, welcoming lobby, accented by natural light and comfortable seating areas, 24 large inpatient suites, a central nurses’ station providing easy access to all inpatient suites, a dining area for family and friends, ample storage for clinical and facility supplies” among additional amenities.

The Main Campus will undergo significant upgrades such as “expanded home care and social services areas, clinical staff education center that includes a simulated patient room and training lab, a large meeting with easy access for attendees, and a palliative care clinic in the former inpatient center.”

Hospice of Wichita Falls began the groundbreaking for a future facility that will change many lives, but this is a movement and journey that began long before groundbreaking was even a thought. With the help of the community, the Hospice of Wichita Falls has made this a reality with donations coming from many different places, now eclipsing $15 million to build and upgrade a project which will build the legacy of care for years to come.
