Fundraiser May 17 will benefit FBCO’s youth camp

First Baptist Church of Olney (FBCO) brings Chick-fil-A to Olney with its Youth Camp Fundraiser Tuesday, May 17. Supporters may purchase meals at FBCO, located at 201 W. Main Street. The meal will include a sandwich, chips, cookies and a bottle of water.

Pastor Chad Edgington said in the April 27 newsletter, “All proceeds [from the fundraiser] will go to support our students getting to camp this summer. Meals will be available to purchase at the church, and we will deliver to several local businesses and the school,” Edgington said.

According to the newsletter, FBCO is accepting donations of 16.9 oz bottled water, homemade cookies (chocolate chip, snickerdoodle or sugar) and monetary donations that supporters can drop off at the church office before May 16. In addition, FBCO volunteers are needed to help with meal packing, deliveries and sales May 17 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those interested in volunteering should contact the associate pastor and youth minister Chris Cavitt.

FBCO hosts a youth camp every summer, and now is the time to register for the camp (Amarillo) July 13.

Edgington stated, “...We will drive up to Amarillo, stay the night at a local church and go to a minor league baseball game.”

While the only additional camp-related cost to the students is the dinner price at the ballpark July 13, students are expected to earn money toward the cost of camp by participating in the fundraiser. Cavitt was not available for comments, but those interested in more details about this fundraiser may reach out to him via FBCO.
