FFA highway cleanup

On June 11, the Olney FFA officers cleaned the highway. Annie Reinke, the president of Olney FFA, stated, “We adopted the highway that goes toward Megargel years ago. We try to make it a tradition to clean it every year. We decided to clean the highway because it has been a whole year since we have cleaned it, and it is our duty to take care of it.”

The Olney officer team that cleaned the highway was composed of six members: Annie Reinke, Ari Livingston, Haden Standly, Hector Hernandez, Natalie Del Villar and Mrs. Haylee Haralson, the FFA Ag teacher. They began to clean the highway at 9 a.m. and then spent approximately five hours cleaning. Annie Reinkie stated, “We did find something interesting. We found a brand-new shovel, and we are planning to use it for the Ag barn.”

The Olney FFA officers are planning to attend the FFA State Convention in July, and they are planning to participate in their annual community service day.

Reinkie reiterated, “The Olney FFA is a proud organization willing to help our community. We are as it says in our motto, “living to serve.”
