Crime Stoppers in Olney

The city of Olney has now partnered with Crime Stoppers to bring signs into town, as well as bring awareness to potential criminal activity in the city of Olney.

At the previous city council meeting held in City Hall of Olney, citizens brought up concerns about criminal activity going on in the town. These citizens were looking for a way to bring awareness to the situation, while being considered anonymous. The council quickly acted upon this proposal, with Crime Stoppers signs going into effect Thursday, Apr. 30. The signs will remain permanent.

These signs are scattered across Olney, including Main Street, by the schools, and every entrance in each direction coming into town. “We had previously been involved with Crime Stoppers years ago,” said Arpegea. “City council quickly took action and signs are now permanent in Olney. Signs are also reflective at night,” Arpegea added.

Olney City Council is thankful for the brave citizens who decided to bring more awareness to this situation, while also hoping that this brings an end to criminal activity in the town. It shows how serious Olney residents are about crime.
