Council members sworn in, Kimbro rejoins Council

City Secretary Tammy Hourigan declared the vote totals from the May 7 City Council election to be true and correct, although Council canceled that election because all three candidates ran unopposed. Olney Police Chief Dan Birbeck swore in Mayor Rue Rogers, Mayor Pro Tem Tom Parker and City Councilmember Tommy Kimbro. The three pledged to execute the duties of their offices faithfully and signed the oath of office and statement of office. Outgoing Councilmember Terri Wipperman surrendered her seat to Kimbro, quipping, “You’re not through with me.”

Parker then was re-elected Mayor Pro Tem on a unanimous vote.
