Council gives City Administrator duties to Mayor
The Olney City Council named Mayor Rue Rogers as acting City Administrator as the Council searches for candidates to replace former City Administrator Arpegea Pagsuberon.
The Council also consulted with the City Attorney in an executive session on Jan. 22 about whether to launch an investigation into sexual harassment allegations made by Ms. Pagsuberon, Mayor Rogers said.
Ms. Pagsuberon stood up in the public comment period and asked the Council to investigate her claims that former Mayor Pro Tem Tom Parker and Councilmember Tommy Kimbro verbally harassed her.
Ms. Pagsuberon also asked the Council to place Mr. Parker on administrative leave from his post as executive director of the Olney Economic Development Corporation while they investigate her claims.
The Council did not take any action after the executive session to discuss pending litigation or contemplated litigation.
The Council also gave some of the City Administrator duties and authority to City Secretary Tammy Hourigan, such as fulfilling Public Information Act requests and signing contracts with vendors.
