Commissioner’s Court Meeting Highlights

Young County Commissioner’s Court held their first meeting of the month on Monday, Aug. 3.

The meeting began by approving the minutes from the previous meeting on July 27.

It was a normal meeting that began with the court considering the Treasurers Financial Report for August, as well as the updates on securities pledged.

Next up on the agenda was to approve the Auditors Budget Amendments and Vouchers Payable. Employee Bonds were then discussed and considered by the court.

The court then discussed the June and July activity reports for jail and the Sheriff ’s office.

The 2020 Helen Farabee Memorandum of Agreement was approved by the court after being discussed and considered.

Next up on the agenda was for the court to discuss and consider the resolution for Young County Approval of Hazard Mitigation plan Resolution #078-FY2020.

The court had a chance to talk about the Bond Supervision Position before moving on to discuss the monthly burn restrictions.

The last item on the agenda before adjourning was the budget workshop with a presentation for the jail and Sherriff ’s Office from Young County Sherriff Travis Babcock and another presentation from Jamie Land, who is the District Clerk.
