
Commemoration of Vietnam Veterans on 3/21
The Department of Defense is relying on Commemoration Partners to bring this Commemoration to life in hometown America. This is a way for Millions of Vietnam Veterans and their families to be thanked and honored where they live and work by neighbors, family and friends.
The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration established the Commemorative Partner Program, an organiza tionally-based, hometown-centric initiative to assist a grateful nation in thanking and honoring Vietnam Veterans and their families where they live.
As part of the Commemorative Partner Program, Certificates of Honor have been designed to honor and give special recognition to veterans and their families. Each living veteran who served at any time on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of location, during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 is eligible to receive one Vietnam Veteran lapel pin on behalf of a grateful Nation.
The certificate and lapel pin are for the immediate family members (parents, spouse, siblings and children) of a veteran who is listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Since President Donald Trump signed into law the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017,designatting March 29 of each year as National Vietnam War Veterans Day, On March 29, 2022, there will be a luncheon at the Senior Cub Center and a ceremony to present lapel pins and certificates to Veterans and spouses.
There will be music by Dr. Greg Buenger, the Piano Man, followed by cake and ice cream.
