City Sets May 24 Splash Day at Pool
The City of Olney is holding a Splash Day at the municipal swimming pool on Memorial Day, City Secretary Tammy Hourigan said last week.
“The plan is to have the pool open by Saturday, May 24 but have Splash Day on Memorial Day,” she said.
The Splash Day celebration will start at 12:30 p.m., she said.
Pool manager Kayla Glover and her lifeguards were finalizing their training and changes to this year’s pool hours that would add an evening family night, Mrs. Hourigan said.
This year marks the pool’s first full summer since it opened last year on July 9. The new pool replaced the city’s 1950s-era pool, which shut for good in 2022 after developed structural issues.
The pool hours this year are 12:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The cost to enter is $1 for up to age 9, $2 for ages 10-17, and $3 for 18 and over.
Private parties will cost $250, including lifeguards, she said.
