City of Olney Employee Recognition

This week, the City of Olney employee spotlight is on Kenneth Blassingame, known to his friends as KC.

Blassingame has been with the city for more than 30 years and has been the public works director for almost nine years. He wears many hats in his role as the public works director. Some of his day-to-day oversight includes water, wastewater, streets, parks, cemetery and the landfill. Blassingame mentioned he would like to stay in his current role until he retires.

When Blassingame working, he said he enjoys hanging out and spending time with his grandchildren. “With seven children and four grandchildren I have plenty of fun during my off time.” Blassingame has been married to his wife Sherri for 18 years.

“I want to give a special thanks to my employees, without whom I could not accomplish all I get done every day. You are a great group of hard-working employees,” Blassingame said.

KC acknowledged that his family and GOD play a significant role in his daily life.
