City Council wraps up 2024 business

The Olney City Council wrapped up 2024 business at a Dec. 9 meeting, including earmarking the remaining federal COVID funds. The Council, including new member Steven Nurre, voted to spend the $85,000 remaining from the $700,000-plus on emergency management radios, a concrete saw and jackhammer and repairs to the roof of City Hall, which has been leaking for several months.

The American Rescue Plan Act funds had to be obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 or the City would have forfeited them, officials said.
