Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Carter BloodCare says their goal is to bring communities together to save lives through blood transfusion. Through community organizations like Olney Police Department, Olney Fire Department, Air Tractor and others hosting blood drives and volunteer donors willing to give life, life-saving resources are given to people throughout North, Central, and East Texas.

   The Olney Battle of the Badges blood drive will be Tuesday, June 27 from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Olney Hamilton Hospital Education Center, 902 West Hamilton Street. This is an opportunity for the Olney community to come together to see who in your town can give the most life: police or fire. It’s the fire department versus the police department in a blood donation battle, and in this game, everyone wins.

   During the 3-day event, blood donors will drop their vote in the ballot box, stating whether their donation honors the firefighters or police officers. At the end, whichever team has the most votes wins. All donors will receive a T-shirt as well as a coupon for half-off Texas Ranger tickets.
