Atmos Energy Endows Scholarship at Vernon College

VERNON, TX (Dec. 6, 2018) - Vernon College is pleased to announce it has received a gift of $10,000 from Atmos Energy to fund an endowed scholarship.

“Atmos Energy is honored to present this scholarship donation to Vernon College as an investment in the future generation of students who participate in welding or heating and air conditioning repair classes,” said Randy West, manager of public affairs for Atmos Energy.

Atmos Energy Scholars will be selected by the Vernon College Scholarship Committee based upon students who meet the following criteria:

1. Enrolled or planning to enroll in the Vernon College Welding or Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) Programs

2. Resident of the Vernon College 12 county service area

3. Grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 or better

4. Enrolled full-time taking at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester or enrolled parttime taking at least six (6) credit hours each fall and spring semester

5. Submit a response to the question, “What do you plan to do with your Certificate or Associate Degree in your program?”
