Annual Geranium Fundraiser Place Order by March 30 for Delivery April 6

The Junior Altruistic Club was organized in 1926 for the “promotion of volunteerism and improving the community.” Every year, club members volunteer to clean up Tommy Perkin’s Park and maintain flower beds and shrubs. Members also volunteer to clean up several blocks of the downtown area while maintaining the rose bushes and shrubs planted in those blocks. Of course, this helps to improve the looks of our community, but the club also donates money to various organizations that actively strive to improve Olney through beautification, educational and service projects, like Keep Olney Beautiful, the Olney Community Library and Art Center, Toys for Tots and House of Mercy. These are just a few because the Junior Altruistic Club has also supported many other organizations and worthwhile causes over the last 96 years.

Now YOU have the opportunity to help improve Olney by participating in a special fundraiser. Members of the Junior Altruistic Club are taking orders for beautiful geraniums in 6.5” pots from Smith’s Garden town. For every $10.00 donation, you may choose a red, salmon or hot pink geranium. Donations are not tax-deductible.

Please call any Junior Altruistic Club member to place your order now. The geraniums will be delivered to Olney Wednesday, April 6. A minimal supply may be offered for sale on that day, but please don’t wait to pre-order because they sell fast! No orders will be taken after March 30.
