A crowd of roughly two to three dozen Young County residents filled the Middle Sister restaurant in Graham last week for a come-and-go reception with representatives of Project Saltworks, the $1–1.5 billion data-center campus proposed east of town.
Online shopping has taken over our shopping and gift giving. Giving homemade gifts are rare nowadays and as such they stand out more than ever. Handmade gifts give something that cannot be purchased such as a piece of the giver’s time and heart. The act of making and presenting a homemade gift offers powerful emotional and relationship benefits for both giver and receiver.
The Christmas season is delightful. We love the “real” meaning of Christmas, and knowing that the baby Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem— coming into our world to give us God’s saving grace.
Have you ever gazed upon a field of wildflowers? They grow in the most obscure places at times, fighting for a place amongst mesquite trees, cactus, wheat fields, and asphalt, concrete. Indian paintbrush flowers, or Castilleja, will scatter across the rural lands of Texas. You’ll see them along the highway, waving hello and goodbye, as they dance in the wind.
A while back, I wrote two articles that were apparently less controversial than I thought that they would be. One was on how just as we know that Tylenol may induce Autism if absorbed in utero, there might be something else in the myriads of other drugs. Then I wrote an article about how there are only men and women. Both are part of the scientific consensus that is being debated. I am happy that our community is willing to have a questioning mind. You might not immediately see the connection, but I will show you that they come together in how science is practiced, by questioning the science.
