National Night Out a Great Success

The Olney Police Department’s National Night Out event, held at Olney’s Tom Griffin Park, was a success with the help of volunteers, including Olney EMS, the Olney Volunteer Fire Department, and many others.

OPD greeted and served up free, tasty hot dogs to attendees who came to mingle with the city’s emergency services workers. The OVFD put on a demonstration of the jaws of life, which are different tools that can pry open doors and cut away metal to free victims from crashed vehicles.

The event also featured a bounce house and blow-up water slide for children. The event allowed the community to meet and get to know the individuals who sacrifice their time and put their lives on the line for those they serve in the community.
