NHS Bobcats Tame Jaguars on Homecoming Nite

The Newcastle High School Bobcats hosted the Guthrie Jaguars for their Homecoming game and buried the Jaguars under the stadium, 50-0. The Bobcats ended the game after the first half, making way for the crowning of the HOCO Hero and HOCO Queen.

The Texas Six-Man Mercy Rule ends the game if one team leads by 45 points or more at halftime or during the second half, which isn’t that uncommon in six-man football where scores can quickly build up to 40 or 50 points in just one half of a game. It is one of the aspects of the fastpaced style of six-man that make it so exciting to watch.

This year’s HOCO Noms for Hero: Cooper Clayton, Rylan Hinojosa, Keegen Voyles and Keyton Newland. HOCO Queen Noms: Rae’Lyn Bennett, Camren Mallory, Kenzie King, and Kinzee Forbus. Court: Brentley Campbell and Kirby Chenault, accompanied by the NHS 2025-26 HOCO Queen, Flor Carranza.
