Volunteer decorators needed needed

Young County Serving our Servants, Inc. (Y.C.S.O.S.) is asking for help with the decor for the upcoming First Responders barbeque lunch and concert fundraiser taking place on Sept. 28 at the HDH Pavilion in Olney, Texas.

Event organizer Teresa Jones said the planning committee came up with the idea to allow volunteers to decorate tables at the event, which reduces expenses and allow more money to go to the actual cause.

“All proceeds from the barbeque lunch go to aid the Young County First Responders in the event of death or injury in the line of duty. The concert will raise procceds to provide a communication tower for Young County responders,” Jones said.

The theme is “First Responders (Law Enforcement, Fire and Ambulance). Jones said the committee would like decorators to stick to ideas that are related to First Responders.

The tables are 60 inches in diameter, and the decorators must provide the tablecloth, centerpiece and any other appopriate decorations. Tables, chairs flatware, plates, naplins and cups will be provided by Y.C.S.O.S.

Jones said the table decor is an excellent way to promote one’s business as long as the promotional items don’t overshadow the First Responder theme.

Table decorating times at the HDH Pavilion located at 841 Hwy 114 E. in Olney are: 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sept. 25, Sept. 26 and Sept. 27. All tables must be completely decorated by 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.

If you are interested in decorating a table, please contact Christine Mayo at 940-567-1657. The deadline to reserve a table for decorating is Sept. 16.
