TMSCA Results

At the High School TMSCA contest in San Antonio were sixteen total 1A and 2A teams competing. Olney placed second place overall, coming up from third place at the meet in 2022. Many students competed in this meet and all met their desired goals.

“We are very proud of the way that our students performed in San Antonio. After a 3rd Place overall finish in 2022, we came back this year and were able to take 2nd overall. There was some tough competition but we put up great scores and took home quite a bit of hardware.,“ says Courtney Hantz.

Olney had the fourth Place Number Sense team: Aidyn Bitner, Angel Alvarado, Peyton Valdez, Katelynn Bailey. Tenth grade first place was Bitner. Eleventh grade fifth place was Alvarado.

The Science team placed fourth: Peyton Valdez, Bitner, Alvarado and Adrian Gonzalez. Ninth grade third place was Gonzalez. Tenth grade fourth place was Bitner. Eleventh grade third place was Valdez .

Placing third as a team, the Calculator team blew it out of the water as well. The third place Calculator team was Jennifer Martinez, Bitner, Bailey, Alvarado. Ninth grade first place was Bailey and fourth place was Flores. Tenth grade fifth place was Bitner, 11th grade fifth place was Alvarado and 12th grade sixth place was Martinez.

Lastly, the Mathematics Team placed second all together. The team included Martinez, Tonya Tueanwiradet, Alvarado and Flores. Ninth grade first place was Flores, second was Bailey, third was Morgan Simmons and fourth was Gonzalez. Tenth grade third place was Bitner. Eleventh grade fourth place was a tie between Tueanwiradet and Alvarado. Twelfth grade second place was Martinez.

“This meet was just what we needed to help prepare us for District UIL and push us one step closer to our end goal, which is to compete at the State UIL Meet in Austin in May,“ says Hantz.
