Summer Reading Program at Olney Community Library and Arts Center

Summer Reading is opening May 20 for children and  May 28 for Junior High and High School students and adults at Olney Community Library.  

Summer hours at the library are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will be closed Saturday and Sunday.  

The Children’s Summer Reading Program runs from May 20 through August 2.  Every Monday afternoon at 1 pm, the library will show a movie in the Meeting Room. A drink and snack will be provided for those attending. A parent or guardian must be in attendance with children below 4th grade.  The 41st Annual Pet Show will be held on June 4, and A  Roo 4 U will be here June 11 and Margaret Clauder will be telling stories June 20. Other fun programming will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of June.

Adult Summer Reading BINGO will begin May 28 and run through September 6. There will be several different BINGO cards to choose from. Students 6th – 12th are also included in this program. Each time a reader gets BINGO, their name will be put in a  drawing for a gift card bundle to be drawn on Friday, September 6 at 3 pm.
