Senior Cub Center celebrates Souper-Bowl

Olney had its own Super Bowl Sunday MVPs. That would be our friends over at the Young County Senior Cub Center [YCSCC] who cooked up a delicious stew, cornbread and desserts. The meal is a tradition here in Olney and goes way back. The proceeds go to help fund programs at the Cub Center and is always something the community of Olney looks forward to each year on Superbowl Sunday.

The event named Souper Bowl, a clever play on words had many visitors stop by and an equal number of deliveries being made. Cub Center Director Angela Lockard said with an hour to the end of the event they had served 130 dine-ins and about the same for to-go or deliveries. The next event to look forward to is an upscale Mother’s Day dinner on May 14: for $35, attendees will be able to enjoy a festively decorated dining room and an upscale meal and have their photos taken to mark the occasion from local photographer Will Sadler.
