One thankful auxiliary

Recently members of the Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary attended the 76th Annual TAHV (Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers) Convention in Frisco.   The purpose of this convention is to provide opportunities for networking, education and fellowship for volunteers across Texas.

TAHV sponsors an awards program for outstanding newsletters, scrapbooks, tray favors and posters.   For the educational segment, there are eight breakout sessions featuring speakers on varied topics from which each person attends two that are of interest to them.   It helps to have more than one or two volunteers attend so that each auxiliary can attend as many sessions as possible to bring information home to the rest of the auxiliary members.   There are also round table discussions where members from different facilities share ideas and problems in search of ways to improve volunteer programs across the state.

Sponsors made it possible for us to send four members for three days and two nights and we would like to thank Mr. Mike Huff on behalf of Olney Hamilton Hospital for taking care of our lodging and the members of the Hospital Foundation for a special donation to cover our registration, Uniform Luncheon, President’s Party (dinner) and Installation Breakfast.   It was an honor to represent our hospital and community at this statewide volunteer function.
