Olney Students Achieve High Honors at theTMSCA in San Antonio

Six high school students attended a Texas Math and Science Coaches Association meet in San Antonio Saturday, March 16, 2019. This is an open statewide meet offered each year to participating schools prior to the beginning of spring high school UIL academic competition.

Olney high school students Christian Fuksa, Kiara Allen, Fatima Marquez, Margarita Olvera, Peyton Kulhanek, and Sarah Roach attended the meet participating in number sense, calculator, mathematics, and science contests.  

In the twelfth grade division Christian Fuksa placed 10th in number sense and 8th in science.

In the tenth grade division Fatima Marquez placed 5th in science. Kiara Allen placed 6th in number sense and 10th in mathematics.

In the ninth grade division Peyton Kulhanek placed second in number sense. Sarah Roach placed 5th in number sense and placed first winning the 9th grade calculator and mathematics contests. Sarah was also ranked third overall in point totals for ninth graders taking all four contests.
