The Olney Lighthouse

We have all seen one, the large lighthouse on the coasts which have been a part of history since the third century BC when Egypt’s Pharos of Alexandria built the first one made from a fire on a platform to signal the port entrance. No matter the beauty in architecture and despite advances in technology, lighthouses are still considered aids to navigation even by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Personally, I have needed navigation in my life. Keeping in mind the water depth and possible dangers through my own wisdom I planned the journey and set the course of what I believed to be a true plotted nautical trip. Holding a doctoral degree from Cypress Theological Seminary , two bachelor degrees; one from Rawls College of business through Texas Tech University and the other in Information Technology from Kaplan University brought about financial security and community status, but no sense of true navigation from the storms and rocks of life. I was empty inside and needed fulfillment and completeness. Due to the raging storms of poor choices based on man’s wisdom over the years I have not been able to utilize the true lighthouse for proper navigation and have crashed and damaged my vessel in the rocks which rendered me homeless.

Being hungry, cold and lost in life I was compelled to understand the tools of navigation I have utilized were useless in reaching my true destination; I was stranded on the island of despair! After searching for the coastal landmarks I spotted a Light House brighter than all others. After consulting my maps I plotted my travel to Olney, Texas where the LIGHT was coming from.

My compass was pointing towards 1302 degrees West on the Payne ship channel. Although I could see it on the map, my vision was darkened and I set to prayer for direction through the dark waters. As I drew closer I could see the Light brighter and brighter and finally made it to the port of The House of Mercy where the TRUE Light House in Olney, Texas was shining so bright that I knew my journey was made.

Captain Preston Crow and his shipmates immediately assisted me in learning the True tools of navigation; Jesus Christ and him crucified. My navigational classes are a seminary setting in and of itself. The rewards of the Olney Light House are life saving and now it is my duty to help and assist all on the dark journey to come to the knowledge of the TRUTH! Ephesians 3:2-6, “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.”
