Olney Hamilton Hospital partners with Carter Bloodcare to save lives

Recently Olney Hamilton Hospital [OHH] hosted the Carter Blood Care team for a regular blood drive. Dale Lovett, OHH Board Chairman, said this is the first of five blood drives scheduled for the year. The blood collected will help cancer treatment victims, people having surgery, and many other various needs.

Lovett said, “We are part of a network of blood suppliers so that they can use our blood in a variety of places; wherever the need is. Oddly enough, OHH also uses blood care for our regular patient needs and emergency needs. We’re a partnership that is on both ends of it. Every whole blood donor can benefit up to three different patients.”

Lovett further explained that the blood drives they host generally bring in approximately 30 or more donors per drive but says OHH blood drives can always use more donors.

To reserve a time to donate during a blood drive, you can visit Carterbloodcare. org and search for the OHH or any other locations that will be having a blood drive. Next, follow the instructions to sign up for a specific time. In addition, Lovett said they always post on social media with times and information about upcoming blood drives.
