In a heartfelt commitment to responding to community concerns, a foundation member asked how we are addressing women’s and children’s needs. Olney Hamilton Hospital is proud to introduce Dr. John Horner to the community. With over 12 years of dedicated practice in rural Texas hospitals, Dr. Horner brings a wealth of experience in family practice, women’s health and pediatric medicine, with emphasis on Rural Health Care.

He began seeing patients in the Olney Family Clinic on May 1, 2025. Dr. Horner’s journey into medicine was inspired by his uncle, a respected vascular surgeon, instilling in him a passion for serving his community through healthcare. His comprehensive practice has encompassed all age groups, reflecting his deep-rooted commitment to primary care and patient wellness.

As the school year winds down Christen, his wife, along with their three children, who will be in 2nd grade, 6th and 7th grade, will soon be joining him in this new chapter. They are ready to immerse themselves in the Olney community. With a background in rural Texas traditions of horsemanship and cattle showing, the Horner’s bring not only medical expertise but also a profound connection to the local lifestyle. Christen’s artistic talents, displayed at Archer & Gunn, enrich the community’s cultural fabric, showcasing her passion for painting and creativity.

As Dr. Horner begins his practice at the Olney Family Clinic; he is supported by a dedicated medical team committed to delivering compassionate care and innovative solutions. Olney is blessed to have John, Christen and family joining us in our pledge in Building a Healthier Future, for Olney and its surrounding areas.
