Olney Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary inDesign Jewelry Fundraiser was a success

On Thursday, Oct. 10, the Hamilton Hospital had an inDesign Jewelry sale. What makes this event so popular is having “the best costume jewelry for the most affordable price you can imagine,” said Judi Winslow, who is the event organizer.

Much of the town makes a stop by the event every year, with many of them being Hamilton Hospital staff, with the sale going on so close to their work. The proceeds then going toward the equipment the service needs of the hospital, according to Judi Winslow. She went on to explain the history of the auxillary, stating that the auxillary has been active in the hospital for more than 50 years, now closer to 60 years with it starting in 1963.

“A lot of what we do has to do with service on the nursing unit. We just try and visit with and comfort patients with whatever they need, doing that Monday-Friday. We also do several fundraisers a year; somewhere around six, including two scrub sales,” she went on to add. They are always looking for new members, with a few new members helping with the jewelry sale. Judi went on to finish by saying that you just have to have a heart for giving yourself and your time and you have to love people.
