OHS One Act Play Takes Third at District, Alt at Area

After placing third at the University Interscholastic League district contest, Olney High School competed at the bi-district level at the Graham Memorial Auditorium on April 3 and won the alternate to the Area competition.

“I have a really good group of students that are a part of my One Act Play company,” Director Kayla Glover said. “These kids have worked so hard to learn their character in the play, and they developed their characterization skills further through the season, especially from district to bi-district.”

Awards for district include Jackson Spurlock- Finner; All-Star Cast, Foster Sullivan; and Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.

Awards for bi-district include Mackenzie Berngen, Tech Award for stage manager; Fernanda Cardenas, Honorable Mention All-Star Cast; and Ava Stewart, All-Star Cast.

“District was fun…,” Adrian Gonzalez, lighting technician, said. “We gave a good performance and were extremely happy to advance. Bi-district was an interesting experience, as the bad weather caused a delayed start to everything, and even though we were the alternate play to the area contest, it was still a fun experience, and the whole One Act Play crew gave it their best performance.”
