Music in May Concert

The Olney Chamber of Commerce’s “Music in May” series opened Saturday with a strong turnout at Tom Griffin Park, where the band Playing Possum performed under clear skies and mild spring weather.

Families gathered around the pavilion for a relaxed evening of live music, with children playing nearby and lawn chairs filling in as the crowd settled in for the show. A bake sale, along with popcorn and snowcone vendors, added to the atmosphere.

The concert was sponsored by local resident Danny Morgan, who is covering the cost of performers, allowing the events to remain free to the public.

“Music in May” continues each Saturday through May 23 from 6–9 p.m. at the park pavilion. Organizers said they were encouraged by the opening night crowd and hope to see continued community support in the weeks ahead.
