Meet the Candidate: Hannah Stewart for OISD Board of Trustees, Place 3

I am excited to formally announce my candidacy for Trustee Place 3 on the Olney ISD School Board. As a mother of 3 children currently enrolled in Olney ISD, a deeply rooted member of the Olney community, and an advocate for educational excellence - I am eager to be able to run for this position. I am committed to advocating for the best interest of our students, educators, and families of Olney ISD. I believe that education is the foundation of our community and will be dedicated to our district’s vision of ensuring that we prepare every student for a promising future.

The community of Olney has always been dear to me. I have fond memories of attending Olney ISD until the 3rd grade when my family moved to the Texas Hill Country. My grandparents remained in Olney where I enjoyed visiting often. In 2007, I graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville and attended Texas Christian University until 2008 when I married my high school sweetheart and graduate of Olney ISD, Will Stewart and returned as a resident of Olney. I continued my education at Midwestern State University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for 12 years with experience in nursing leadership and management for the past 4 years as Area Clinical Director for Healing Hands Healthcare.

Will and I have been married for 15 years and together we have three children: Ava (14), Caroline (11), and Mae (8). We are thankful to be able to raise our family in Olney where both our families have lived and conducted business for many generations. We are very proud that our children have the opportunity to receive an education through Olney ISD and believe they are receiving a topnotch education while being afforded opportunities to further expand each of their talents and gifts to ensure they are well prepared for the future. It is imperative that we continue to foster an environment that empowers our students to have every opportunity to be involved and gain ownership of our collective mission of our district to excel and to positively impact the world.

I am passionate about serving people and am dedicated to understanding the needs and advocating for those that I serve. I value informed evidence based decisions ensuring that all data is collected and then carefully considered objectively.

My leadership experience, effective communication, and commitment to excellence in all that I do will be the foundation from which I will lead as a Trustee of the Olney ISD School Board. It is important that together we ensure Olney ISD is a pillar of excellence, serving the needs of all students.
