Mayor proclaims National Senior Center Month

The Young County Senior Cub Center [Cub Center] has been hosting events in celebration of National Senior Center Month.

Olney Mayor Rue Rogers came out in support of Olney’s Senior Center with a special proclamation. Mayor Rogers’ proclamation stated an encouragement to citizens to explore the Cub Center activities and furthermore to take a step forward and volunteer.

The Senior Center invites the public to a 1950s-style Sock Hop with DJ Chris Widner at 302 S. Avenue B on Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Center will provide tea, water, and mock cocktails and encourages everyone to dress up and bring their favorite snacks to share. The event is free of charge and open to everyone.
