The Magic Balloon Guy Comes to Olney

Robb Holladay was invited by the Olney Community Library and Art Center (OCLAC) to perform his unique magic balloon show that helps to promote reading during the summer.

OCLAC Children’s Library Director Carol Vorel says Holladay is based out of Dallas Texas and along with a very entertaining magic balloon show Holladay teaches the children how to have good character.

“Holladay has a very good online review and every review she read was very enthusiastic about him, which was one of the reasons we chose him to come to Olney,” Vorel said.

Holladay said, “The show is about getting the kids out and getting them excited about the library; It’s not only about computers but also about checking out books.”

Holladay says he has been doing the show since 1998, which includes telling stories, twisting balloons into objects and animals and doing a little magic. During the regular school year, Holladay spends the majority of his time doing school assemblies with a message about the dangers of vaping. Holladay said vaping is especially dangerous when combined with the Covid-19. For information, visit Holladay’s Facebook page @robbholladay.
