Local Churches Host Revival
The spirit of revival filled Olney last month as local churches and community members gathered for a three-day event themed “He is Still Risen!”
The revival took place over the second half of Spring Break, March 13– 15, and featured worship, testimonies, and fellowship.
Organized by Zachary Schertz and a team of local pastors, the revival included two evenings of guest speakers followed by a community picnic on Saturday at Tommy Perkins Park.
On Thursday, March 13, Pastor Josh Hagel of Southside Baptist Church opened the revival with a message of hope and renewal.
The following evening, Pastor Kellen Capps of Horizon Country Church shared an inspiring sermon on faith and perseverance.
The event concluded on Saturday with testimonies from Schertz and Russell Oliver at the park, followed by a picnic and raffle. Attendees had the chance to win two mystery prizes and a Stewart’s Food Store gift card, with proceeds benefiting the Olney Ministerial Alliance. Originally planned as a six-day event, the revival was shortened to three days but still brought together residents from across the community to celebrate faith and fellowship.
