H.O.M.E. Plants Flowers in Olney

The Hands of Mercy is a job training program that functions through the House of Mercy Enterprises (H.O.M.E.). The Hands of Mercy provides work opportunities to the residents of the House of Mercy to reintegrate them into the workforce. The program includes yard service, home repairs, painting and other services.

The residents pictured in the accompanying photos are part of the work program that provides flower-planting services. Last year, the Hands of Mercy assisted with planting roses in Olney. The HOME director Preston Crow said people who want to hire HOME residents for yard services have multiple options when it comes to yard work and planting flowers. HOME has a greenhouse where they plant seeds for flowers and vegetables that will be sold to supplement HOME’s income and ensure sustainability. The other option is to let them know what type of flowers you want so they can purchase the bulbs and plant them.

The House of Mercy Enterprises was established in 2017 to provide a safe haven for people who need temporary housing to rebuild their lives in a loving atmosphere. The organization is a faith-based non-profit 501(c) 3 that seeks partnerships with individuals and businesses to strengthen the community. Some of the educational programs are offered to non-residents, too. Visit https://houseofmercyenterprises.org to learn more.
