GRT holiday tradition: ‘A Christmas Carol’
The cast of Graham Regional Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” gave their all in a spirited final dress rehearsal last Wednesday night as their Dec. 6 opening night loomed.
This cherished holiday tradition, beloved by the Graham community, is set to open this Friday with a fresh twist on Charles Dickens’ classic tale. One of the most anticipated events of the year and one that officially begins the Christmas season is the annual presentation of “A Christmas Carol,” performed by the troupe at Graham Regional Theatre. This classic play is a cautionary tale for those who do not practice Christmas spirit and giving during the most giving month of the year. Scrooge is visited by three ghosts: present-future-past, and learns how his stingy actions affect more people than he realizes.
By the end of the night, Scrooge has a change of heart and opens his wallet to change the fate of all those around him and learns the real gift is the gift of giving.
The play runs through Sunday, Dec. 15. Performances this week are Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.
