First Baptist Church of Olney Brings Back an Old Custom

The 2019 Baccalaureate Service for the Senior Class took place on May 5, at the First Baptist Church.  Eleven graduates were recognized in the service.  The service was a project of the Olney Ministerial Alliance held in honor of the 2019 graduating class.  Each participating student received a very nice ESV Study Bible.  

A Baccalaureate Service is a non-denominational service that formerly was held each year to allow the community of faith in Olney to recognize and celebrate the achievements and personal growth of the graduates.  The Ministerial Alliance was delighted to renew this tradition for our school and community.  

The Baccalaureate was not sponsored by the Olney Independent School District.  However, students, teachers and administrators participated in the service.
